Genomic Characterization and Applications of Modern Sequencing Technologies
Halls department, Hall 3
Wednesday, 27 December 2017
11:00 - 12:00
In this talk, we discuss some of the advantages of modern sequencing technologies including standard short-read and long-read sequencing technologies with applications to genome re-sequencing and variation discovery. We discuss the ability of these technologies in calling variants including structural variants in repeat regions of the genome. We also discuss potentials of short-read and long-read technologies in applications such as metagenomics and quantifying cancer evolution.
